I only have the first volume (wish I would have bought the set) but I would totally recommend getting all the volumes because I know you will learn a lot!! You can also buy just one book at a time if you want to test it out first.
Suggest 2: Sign up for the http://digital-photography-school.com/ newsletter. It has useful information about anything you need to take great photos. Also it gives you assignments to work on and contests! ie - Photo a Day:)
Suggest 3: I have this tripod and it is awesome to have around when you are traveling. Like when we were in Paris and wanted to take a picture in front of the Eiffel Tower together, we just propped this up on the fence and took the photo! It was amazing and we got some wonderful shots of us. Very handy!! Check out my facebook if want to see the photos:)
Last suggest: Whatever you do, get this remote (I guess it is no longer a suggestion)! The remote and gorillapod is a great combination because when you post up the tripod then you can take a picture without setting the timer. Perfect photos!!
Now of course I have to add in my "I want"
Tripods make such a difference in your photos! The only thing is this hobby is expensive:) Why is it every time I go into a store I always pick out the most expensive items? I guess that is something I get from my mom:)
